Prodigy was selected by Zara to construction their two-storey flagship location within the new expansion wing at Sherway Gardens Mall in Toronto,

The new location would be a 33,500 sq.ft. retail location with Men’s, Women’s and a Children’s department. This was the third location Prodigy had the opportunity to construction with others being in Ottawa and Newmarket previously.

The timelines were tight; 22 weeks from start to finish in order to open prior to the ‘Back to School’ Labour Day long weekend. The scope included over 25,000 sq.ft. of highly intricate drywall ceilings, extensive mechanical and electrical scopes and a new escalator and elevator installation that were all managed by our experienced Senior Site Superintendent and qualified Project Manager.

We faced several challenges outside of the overall schedule; unionized worksite, mechanical delays, municipal inspectors, millwork package coming from Spain and work stoppages due to ongoing labour strikes.

Our firm was able to problem solve each challenge and deliver to our client a new Zara flagship without delay.
