Overview

INSTITUTIONAL

Prodigy was hired by the Shevchenko Museum as their Construction Manager to plan and implement an extensive renovation of the Toronto property. We transitioned  the Association of United Ukrainian Canadians Cultural Centre into the Shevchenko Museum over five months. The project scope included the complete demolition of the existing buildings interior space, vast structural work and a south end build out to allow for an expansive banquet area. We underpinned to a depth of 15′ over a 4,000 sq.ft. section of the existing basement and used a caisson system to ensure the vertical expansion was structurally sound.

As with all projects, safety was an avid concern; since this project was located on Bloor Street, one of Toronto’s busiest stretches of road, ensuring the safety of the pedestrians and vehicular traffic was of great concern and required close collaboration with the community, authorities having jurisdiction and our own internal health & safety teams.

Prodigy was successful in delivering, on time and on budget, along with a high-level of quality for a client excited to begin operations within the space!
