Prodigy was selected by Massimo Dutti to complete their new 12,000 sq.ft. flagship location at Mississauga’s Square One Shopping Centre. We had just completed their 10,000 sq.ft. Pacific Centre flagship location in downtown Vancouver the year previously.

Massimo Dutti locations are usually sixteen or eighteen week construction schedules based on the high – end finishes associated with the interior construction. That being said, we were approached to complete under a twelve-week construction period by our client who wanted an accelerated schedule. The biggest challenge associated with the reduction in schedule was the marble plank floor, which came in from Italy requiring honing and polishing after installation. Massimo Dutti required a seven-step process, which was the reason behind the flooring scope alone taking four weeks at regular time. We had to reduced this by half and implemented a 24hr honing + polishing schedule for our subtrade.

This location at Square One was also in an extremely high – profile area and the storefront was massive (+140ft). No attention to detail could be spared. Fortunately, our subtrades and our internal project management | site staff were proactive and well prepared at every turn, which allowed our firm to deliver this project on time and to the quality level expected.
