Prodigy was awarded the construction of the J.Crew location at Fairview Shopping Centre in Toronto, ON. Our biggest challenge was the design + construction of the new solid surface storefront façade. Previous Canadian contractors, according to J.Crew New York’s head offices had never completed one to the quality and standards set forth by the brand. Fortunately, Prodigy through our preferred trade partners and with local millwork and production capabilities were able to pull off one of the highest quality construction projects for them, especially with regards to storefront finishes.

The flooring supplied by the client was an unfinished oak floor, which required staining on-site. Our wood flooring installers and painters were able to apply the level of detail required in order for this scope to be delivered without deficiencies and to great reviews. In fact, the Level 5 finishes applied to the walls and ceilings were given high praise and the millwork installation was carried out in a professional manner by our team of detailed carpenters.

Finally, this location was a unionized work environment and as such all subcontractors were required to be of union affiliations. Our firm has a tremendous amount of experience working within unionized landlord workspaces and in parallel to unionized base building contractors. We have developed great relationships with union affiliated subcontractors across North America!
