Prodigy was engages in the winter of 2017 as the Construction Manager for the build of Cactus Clubs 30th restaurant, and only it’s 3rd in the eastern provinces. We started working on this project months before the date of commencement. With any build of this size and detail, both the pre-design and design stages required heavy involvement from the Construction Management Team. We worked tirelessly with the client and consultants to put together a budget, schedule and proper set of working drawings that met all stakeholders requirements and expectations. Some of the biggest challenges of this project took place before construction had even begun.

Once work was under way, Prodigy overlooked the build of one of the most modern and state of the art restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area. The building boasts a retractable roof and operable curtain wall system on the second-floor patio that allows its patio operations to continue throughout all four seasons. The restaurant also boasts a 3,500 sq.ft. kitchen which required meticulous coordination amongst the many different mechanical and electrical trades involved.

One of the many challenges we faced was the amount of detail this project required. From framing the building to installing the final pieces of furniture, our team worked diligently to follow behind each trade to check their work and ensure we were handing over a final product our client would be proud of. We worked closely with our client to ensure whenever there was any doubt about a finishing detail we would install or procure whatever met their expectations.

We are happy to report that the restaurant at Sherway Gardens is one of Cactus’ most popular and successful locations. We enjoyed our time working on such an incredible build!
