Prodigy was engaged as the Construction Manager for the renovation of several areas of the Branksome Hall campus. The scope included new Art Studios, Design Labs and associated classrooms / spaces  for the al-girls private school. The project was an intense 2.5 month renovation across 3 buildings and multiple floors.

Prodigy was involved in the planning and design stages of this project, meeting weekly with the architects and mechanical and electrical consultants to review the client’s specific requests while still maintaining the proposed budget and schedule. As more requests came in, it became difficult to honor the original budget; however, we worked hard to find ways to lower costs while still meeting the client’s expectations. As the project progressed, we met weekly with the consultant team to ensure all stakeholders concerns were being addressed and actioned.

An important aspect about this project was Prodigy’s ability to supervise and maintain all safety requirements and construction activities at the various classrooms, and within a live institutional environment. Each renovation area was surrounded by in-session classroom spaces, in use by student occupants and during the busy summer camp season. Project’s within live work environments require additional attention and a priority on safety for our teams, the occupants and the community at large. To address this challenge, Prodigy held weekly safety meetings with all project subcontractors to reinforce our safety requirements and expectations for the coming week.

Prodigy was successful in delivering this project to a satisfied owner and in complete collaboration with the consultant teams. We have been Branksome Hall’s Construction Manager of choice since 2015 and are proud of our relationship with one of the leading all-girls independent schools in North America!
