Balenciaga hired Prodigy as their Construction Manager for their flagship boutique located on the prestigious Alberni Street in Vancouver, Canada.

We were part of an international team, which included store planning based in New York, Corporate head offices based in London, design based in Paris and in-store marketing based in Milan. It was truly a global effort, on a weekly conference call basis which made this build so successful.

Prodigy was required to work closely with the clients Paris based design firm, in order to comply with several local and municipal building codes given the complex M&E systems found within the space.

The landlord was also restrictive in terms of what construction we were permitted to carryout during regular hours; most of the work on this project was hybrid, in that we had teams working in shifts over days and nights, depending on deliveries, intrusive work and the buildings event schedule.

The complexities associated with the storefront glazing and portal system required our glazing subcontractor team to travel to London for on-site training with Balenciaga approved suppliers.

Ultimately, Prodigy was successful in delivering this project to a very happy international client and to the standards expected, albeit given the very challenging construction environment.
